Enable Process Release Workflow

The release workflow described here is also possible for information and areas.
For an information or area release workflow, follow the same steps as described in this chapter.
The process release workflow supports you in checking and releasing the process. In the event of status changes, emails with the release report, which contains the process graphics and a detailed process description, are automatically sent to reviewers and approvers.
Use historization
We recommend using the release workflow together with automatic historization. That's why automatic historization is always activated when the release workflow is activated.
If you want to use the release workflow without historization, deactivate historization under File – Options – Current Process Model – Historization.
If the process release workflow is not activated, it is possible to change the release status in the Management tab to change the process properties to any status (e.g. from inactive on released ). If the workflow is activated, the status can only be changed gradually ( In Progress > In Review > Reviewed > In Release > Released).
To enable the process release workflow:
- In the viflow File tab, click on Options – Current Process Model and under Release activate the Release workflow activated option.

- If necessary, enable the Send email notifications option and review and change the process review and process release messages if necessary.
The process release workflow can also be used without sending emails. - If necessary, enter additional recipients in the Additional recipients (CC) field. Please separate multiple addresses with spaces or semicolons ";".
The notification email can be sent directly and without a preview in the email window. To do this, enable the Send without preview option. - Close the Options window with OK.
The process release workflow is now activated.
