There are some tools in viflow and Windows that can be very helpful when troubleshooting. In viflow you can set this in the options, in Windows the event viewer helps with troubleshooting.
Diagnostic options in viflow
In viflow you can separately activate the logging of events and the transmission of usage statistics:
Logging
If this option is activated, the individual events in the program are saved in a log file. This data helps to identify and correct errors that occur.
- Open the Options window via the viflow menu File – Options – Diagnostics.
- Under Logging, enable Activate Logging
Transmission of log files
The log files (text document with the file extension*.log) are saved in the following directory: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\ViCon\ViFlow
For the analysis, please send us the "up-to-date" log file.
Usage Statistics
- Open the Options window via the viflow menu File – Options – Diagnostics.
- Under Usage Statistics, Allow viflow to send this data to ViCon.
- Now [SHIFT]-click the text block under Usage Statistics to view the Telemetry ID.
Transmission of Usage Statistics
The usage data and reports are automatically and anonymously transmitted to ViCon GmbH – we only need your telemetry ID to be able to assign the data.
