If you want to use groups instead of users, follow these steps:
- Create one or more groups in Active Directory (AD).
- Assign the users who will later work with viflow or the viflow WebModel to these groups.
- Now create these groups in viflow – IMPORTANT! Make sure that they have exactly the same names as the AD groups.
To do this, open the Groups window in viflow via View – Groups. - To create groups, right-click in the window and select New – Group.
Here you can also create folders in which the groups can be stored.
- Now assign permissions for the individual groups in viflow.
To do this, right-click the respective group in the Groups window and select Properties.
Further information on using groups in viflow can be found at the bottom of this page. - If a user who belongs to one of these groups logs in to viflow or the WebModel, he or she will receive the rights assigned to him or her via the authorizations when using the system.
The permissions of the (few) groups, not those of the (many) users, are synchronized, which can contribute to better performance in viflow.
