Replace WebModel manually on web server

Applies to: viflow (subscription | 9 | 8) | Article: 1726420 | Updated on 21.05.2024

If you do not export the process model directly to the web server as a WebModel, you can also exchange the WebModel manually on the web server.

Replace WebModel manually

Please proceed as follows:

  1. Download the file ››› app_offline linked here (zip file), unzip it and save the app_offline.htm in any directory.

  2. Export the process model as a WebModel (File – Export – Whole Process Model – WebModel) to a new, empty folder – NOT to a directory on your web server.
You can select the target directory of the WebModel in the last window of the export dialog Complete settings.

  3. After the export, open the newly created destination folder in Windows Explorer.
Here rename the webmodel.sqlite file to webmodel-update.sqlite.

  4. Now copy the app_offline.htm file to the target directory on the web server.

  5. In this folder (target directory on the web server) delete all files except app_offline.htm and webmodel.sqlite.

  6. Move the new WebModel to the destination folder on the web server – make sure there is no message to confirm file overwriting.

  7. After copying, remove the app_offline.htm file from the web server target directory.

  8. Now call up the WebModel using the known address in the browser.

Delete

Delete the "app_offline" file before opening the WebModel

If the app_offline.htm file is not deleted after the WebModel has been moved to the web server (see above, step 7), the message that the WebModel is currently being updated appears permanently (!) when the WebModel is called.
